Real Christmas trees are a wonderful renewable and recyclable resource! Trees in the field stabilize the soil, provide shelter for wildlife and improve air quality. An acre of Christmas trees not only absorb carbon dioxide, they also provide enough oxygen for the daily needs of eighteen people! For each tree harvested, new ones are planted each spring. Real trees are totally recyclable and locally are collected and shredded for mulch. A tree returned to Pleasant Valley Tree Farm is used for flood control.

Conversely, fake trees do not biodegrade when disposed of and since they contain plastics made from petroleum, can not be burned safely. They are also imported. Real Christmas trees support the U.S. economy.

We have extended Pleasant Valley Tree Farm's environmental commitment further still. We power all of our tractors, trucks and most of our personal cars with 100% U.S. produced Soy Based BIODIESEL! This means that not only is there a significantly less pollution from our operation, but your REAL Christmas tree is even more American based.
